Protect your conference calls with additional security settings
One-Time Access Code
If you have an important call and you want to ensure it is private, just select the 'Security Settings' option when scheduling your call. This option can be found at the bottom of the first 'Schedule a conference' page and will give you the option to randomly generate a one-time access code to be used just for that particular scheduled call.
You will also have the option to add an additional layer of security by choosing your own 'Security Code'. Callers will be prompted to enter this after the access code has been accepted. This feature can only be used in combination with the one-time access code.
The one-time access code will be sent to all invitees, along with the regular conference dial-in number/s and meeting URL. Participants will only need to enter this code instead of your regular code after calling the usual dial-in number. They can also join via internet using the unique URL for this meeting or by entering the one-time code on the FreeConference.com home page after clicking 'Join Meeting'.
**The one-time code will be active 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
If you select the additional 'Security Code', you will be able to enter your own preferred code that participants will be prompted to enter when calling using a phone and also via a pop-up message when they join using their browser or one of the apps. This will add another layer of security for situations where discretion and privacy are required.
While a call is in progress, you also have the option to Lock the Conference. This can be done via phone when you have called in with the moderator PIN. Simply press *5 from your phone's dial pad to prevent new participants from joining your call and to unlock the conference, just press *5 once more.
You can also do this via the Online Meeting Room. Just select 'Moderator Controls' in the Menu and then click or tap on the 'Lock' button as shown below.
